RockStar, the Art of Musicians
Sunday, May 13th; 3-7PM
Art Queen
61855 Highway 62
Joshua Tree, CA
I'm excited to be on the bill as a performer (although it looks like I can't make the
concert to perform) and art exhibitor for a show in the desert of Joshua Tree, CA
called "RockStar, the Art of Musicians", that's being put on by my friend Shari Elf-
sharielf.com, that's going to have some really well known perfomers that will be
showing some artwork of their's- like Graham Nash, Ann Magnuson, Daniel
Johnston, Victoria Williams, Rennie Sparks (Handsome Family) and Johnette
Napolitano (Concrete Blond,)- sharielf.com/news.html, along with lesser known
performers like myself.

I'm going to be showing some of my foam fish sculptures that I made back while I
was trying to come up with some art work for "Bugs and Critters". I was going to
be performing, but due to car problems and family visiting from out of town, I'm not
going to be able to perform at the concert on Sunday.

Here's Shari's info/ release about the event:

Randy Polumbo & Shari Elf welcome you to our next event at ART QUEEN!

For Immediate release ROCKSTAR exhibit opens with party and
concert!!
MAY 13, 2007 3-7PM

ROCKSTAR
Since the dawn of civilization different creative disciplines have
cross pollinated one another. Blacksmiths discovered their forging
hammer had rhythm, and the beatnik poets were inspired to set their
words to bebop more recently. Sometimes 1+1 does not equal two, it
equals 20 when inspiration strikes twice. Come and witness both the
visual art and music of folks who have been knighted by both swords.

From world famous Rock Star Artists: Graham Nash, Ann Magnuson,
Daniel Johnston, Victoria Williams, Rennie Sparks (Handsome Family)
and Johnette Napolitano (Concrete Blond,)

To desert luminaries Debora Iyall, Travis Kline and Carol Ann of The
Thrift Store All Stars, Bingo (Bingo's Dream Band, Thrift Store All
Stars), Korinna Knoll (Neulander), Ted Quinn, Krissie Gregory, Joshua
Kjerstad (The Clouds), Jessika Rabbit (Gram Rabbit), Moby Dick and
Shari Elf...

And including wild cards like author Rick Moody (Wingdales), Alicia
Bay Laurel, Doug Newman, Randy and Nico Polumbo, Art Paul Schlosser,
Randy the Banjo Ghost and New York performer/artists David
Wojnarowicz, James Nares, Hannah Marcus, Alan Vega, and Phranc...

From 3 to 7pm. Free Party and Concert with performances by Ann
Magnuson, The Sibleys, Shari Elf and the Fairy Elf Band, Ted Quinn,
Doug Newman, Neulander, The Clouds and Harmondale with special
surprise guests (maybe Victoria Williams!) to celebrate the opening
of the ROCKSTAR exhibit. Free drinks, fun and tasty snacks!
(Sadly, Phranc had to cancel because it's mothers day, but we admire
her priorities),

RockStar, the Art of Musicians, will run from May 13-August 31, 2007,
with musical recordings by most of the participating artists available
for your listening enjoyment (and purchase) as you view their art
works.
